Bridal Design

After spending the summer in the garment district learning more about apparel design and observing the production of wedding dresses, I became increasingly curious about bridal design. I’ve been fortunate to learn about the full design process—from initial concept to patternmaking to production management. However, I had never actually sewn a garment before.

For my senior exit show, I decided to design and construct a debutante/wedding gown inspired by the early designs of Christian Dior. Through this project, I fell even more in love with fashion (if that’s possible) and am excited to continue deepening my understanding and skill set.
