LES Eloise
This project was assigned at the beginning of the Fall semester. I was tasked with creating a pattern that reflected my experiences over the summer. I had spent the summer designing and interning in New York City while living in the Lower East Side, so I decided to transform my sketches from that time into a stripe based design.
Growing up, my perception of New York was shaped by the Eloise books I read as a child, which gave me a slightly skewed and highly imaginative idea of the city. With that in mind, I wanted to revisit my summer drawings in a playful way, reinterpreting them through the lens of children’s book illustration and bringing that sense of curiosity and nostalgia into the final pattern.
